Score 89/100 · Drink 2002-2006, Robert Parker, Aug 2002
The 2000 Zinfandel Monte Rosso Vineyard (600 cases; 15.5% alcohol) displays a brandy macerated, black cherry and currant-scented nose with notions of underbrush and spice. This fleshy, full-bodied, rich, and long offering is one of the stars of Biale's 2000 portfolio. Enjoy it over the next 3-4 years. Tel. (707) 257-7555

Bright medium ruby. Briary wild berries and pepper on the slightly porty nose. Superripe, dense, expansive and concentrated; the blackberry pie flavor is amarone-like in a positive way. Just this side of over the top; offers classic zinfandel sweetness of fruit.
