Tasting notes
The dark plum/ruby-colored 2001 Zinfandel Vineyard 101 exhibits a big bouquet of brambleberries, raspberries, plums, and earth. Medium to full-bodied and elegant, with good stuffing, excellent length, and a pure, ripe finish, it is not a blockbuster, but is a tasty Zin to drink over the next 2-3 years. Tel. (707) 963-0940

Bright medium ruby. Complex, inviting nose features black and red cherry, bitter chocolate, coffee and menthol. Dense and sweet but juicy, with firm, nicely defined flavors of crushed red and black berries and pepper. A penetrating, rather powerful zinfandel that's carrying no excess weight. At 14.6% alcohol, this is the least alcoholic of Turley's 2001 zins.
