Tasting notes
The 2018 Gran Reserva Malbec was less oaky and concentrated, but the grainy tannins from the barrels have not yet been resolved and some of the aromas and flavors still remain. But the wine has good ripeness and freshness, with acidity, and it should be able to gain better balance with some more time in bottle. This wine matured in 160- and 225-liter oak barrels, new and second use, for 18 months. 4,700 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2020.

The 2018 Malbec Gran Reserva from the Uco Valley was aged for 18 months in 40% new barrels. Purple in the glass with a garnet sheen. The nose presents notes of fresh plum, hints of violet, aromas from the aging process such as cigar box, and hints of cherry, jam and thyme. The 2018 is a nimble, juicy wine with a refined texture and finely grained tannins with compact freshness. The finish lingers at length.
