Deep purple. Incredibly floral with violets and lavender, vanilla blossom, blueberry, cassis and pink peppercorn. There's just a touch of tapenade that's beginning to develop. High, tight acidity and dusty tannin. A smidge of oak spice on the finish. (SCJ)

The 2019 Akasha, a varietal Syrah, is spicy and viral in the glass, pulling the taster close to take in its array of exotic spices, cedar tones and dried black cherries. The 2019 is soft and enveloping, yet savory to the core. Brisk acidity offset crisp dark red fruits and herbal tones. It finishes structured and long with a lavender and tart blackberry staining that slowly fades over a coating of grippy tannins.
