Tasting notes
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Cor Leonis is just as gorgeous today as it was last year. Mid-weight and polished throughout, the 2014 will offer considerable near and medium term appeal after it is released. Raspberry jam, rose petal, mint and cinnamon give the 2014 its signature bright aromatic profile in this vintage. This impeccably balanced Cabernet Sauvignon its pure pleasure.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Cor Leonis comes from Pritchard Hill’s Chang Vineyard, the famous To Kalon Vineyard of Andy Beckstoffer, and the Caldwell Vineyard in Coombsville. This is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and exhibits the tobacco leaf, blue and black fruits, camphor, licorice, subtle toast and smoke as loamy soil undertones that a great Cabernet from Napa often does. The wine is pure and full-bodied, with beautifully integrated oak, acidity and tannin. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Cor Leonis is another opulent, layered wine from Moone-Tsai. Dark red and bluish fruit, mint, spice and lavender come a live in a wine that marries finesse with power. The 2014 finishes with a host of mineral and savory notes that give the wine added layers of nuance to balance the intense, inky fruit. This powerful, deep wine has a bright future.
