Bright orange-pink. Smoky, highly perfumed aromas of raspberry, blood orange, gingerbread and fresh rose. Juicy, focused and pure, with impressive energy and lift to its sappy red fruit and floral flavors. A zesty mineral note adds bite and extends the long, spicy, penetrating finish. This impressive bubbly could stand up to most pink versions from Champagne.

The 2004 Brut Rosé L'Ermitage is past the place where I personally find pleasure in wine. Dried cherry, crushed rocks, game and incense show the wilder side of Pinot Noir. Dosage is 11.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: February 2011.
