Tasting notes
Mixing savory spices with sage and perfumed raspberry, the 2020 For Her comes to life in the glass. This is elegance personified, washing across the palate with silky textures and tart wild berry fruits perfectly lifted by a burst of zesty acidity. It finishes unexpectedly fresh and energetic, with rosy inner florals and building tannins that add a gentle grip. The 2020 is already showing beautifully today, yet the best is yet to come. For Her is a co-fermented blend of 58% Syrah, 28% Graciano, and 14% Viognier.

The 2020 For Her comes from 58% Syrah, 28% Graciano, and 14% Viognier. It's another deep purple-hued effort with a massive core of darker, almost blue fruits as well as scorched earth, ground pepper, liquid violets, and a beautiful, exotic floral character. These all carry to a voluptuous, full-bodied, layered, seamless wine that has the firmer tannins of the vintage yet also brings an incredible core of sweet fruit and opulence that makes it such a joy to drink. I was able to look at the 2020s and 2021s from L’Aventure, both solid vintages. In fact, they might have made some of the best wines in Paso in 2020, and the wines are impressive across the board.
About the producer

L’Aventure is one of the leading wine estates in Paso Robles, California. It was founded by Stephan Asseo and his wife Beatrice who left their native France in 1997 in search of a place to make wine without the restrictions of France’s appellation system.
