Tasting notes
The 2022 Vat 1 Semillon is already complex and full-bodied, and this signals the style of Vat 1 to a tee. Richer and more concentrated than many (read: most) in the region, Tyrrell's has sat at the top of the Australian Semillon quality tree for almost forever, and it is this cuvée that leads the charge. I never thought I'd say this out loud, let alone in print, but I miss all the top-heavy gold medal and trophy stickers that adorn the fronts of the older vintages. Perhaps the numbers got out of control, or there wasn't enough room on the bottle ... who knows. But bring them back. Regardless, this has salted white peach, apples, lemongrass, sandalwood, crushed shells, a dash of caper brine and layers of minerals and rocks. So, it's super good, but it will be even better in the future, just you watch.

Limes, green mangoes, ripe pears, crushed stone and some slate. Full-bodied with phenolics and depth. Amazing structure and so flavored. Drinkable but can age for years. Screw cap.
