Punchy – lanolin, lime and tightness. This seven-year-old wine is still extraordinarily youthful! Truly sui generis . But it’s middle-aged at the moment, so the uninitiated would be truly perplexed by the price, I suspect. (JR)

Brilliant straw. Aromas of dried pear, lemon balm, beeswax, honey and jasmine, along with dusty mineral and fennel nuances. Intense, mineral-laced citrus and orchard fruit flavors show firm tension and strong back-end lift and cut. In a dry, nervy style but in no way strict, although those who prize opulence in a white wine will likely demur. Finishes impressively long and precise, with the floral, beeswax and pear notes repeating.
