Tasting notes
Green-gold. Citrus pith, pear, white flowers and a hint of smoked meat on the nose, with a light touch of gunflint. Fresh and tightly wound, with racy citrus and pit fruit flavors lifted by a strong peppery note. The zesty, spicy quality extends through a long, mouthwatering finish, which shows striking depth and precision.

Made from the same blend as the 2004, the 2005 Sauvignon Blanc l’Apres Midi is 100% barrel-fermented with batonnage, but malolactic fermentation is avoided in order to give the wine crisper acids. Fresh, lively, and exhibiting notions of honeyed grapefruit, melon, and quince, this beautiful white wine will offer uncommon flexibility with an assortment of foods. Previously recommended: 2003 Chardonnay Belle Cote (94), 2003 Chardonnay La Carriere (97), 2003 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene (95), 2003 Chardonnay Ma Belle-Fille (93), 2003 Chardonnay Mon Plaisir (94), 2003 Chardonnay Point Rouge (97), 2003 L’Esprit des Pavots (90), 2003 Les Pavots (94), 2003 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge (93).
