Tasting notes
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Pierra is a serious, age-worthy, incredibly classic Oakville effort that boasts a dense purple hue as well as brilliant aromatics of black olives, tobacco, violets, iron, and cassis. Made in a pure, medium to full-bodied, focused, elegant, yet also concentrated and gorgeously balanced style, it’s going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for over two decades.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Pierra is a single puncheon from Leopoldina. It takes all the signatures of that site and dials up the volume to eleven. Soaring aromatics and plush fruit meld together in a sumptuous Cabernet that dazzles from start to finish. The 2019 marries opulence and finesse in a super-ripe, full-throttle Cabernet that is sure to thrill the estate's fans.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Pierra bursts with profound crème de cassis, baked plums and Morello cherries scents, followed by compelling wafts of dried Provence herbs, cedar chest, truffles and black olives, plus a fragrant touch of violets. The medium to full-bodied palate quakes with latent energy, framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and lovely freshness, finishing long and savory. Give it a good 3-5 years in the cellar and drink it over the next 20 years+.
Ripe cherries, plums, chili, blackcurrant leaves, hazelnuts and baking spices on the nose. Full body with powdery tannins and fresh acidity. Savory and gently leafy with a flavorful core of wild black fruit. Drink or hold.
