Tasting notes
The 2021 La Tierra de Jonata spent 18 months in neutral French oak. The nose is reminiscent of a classic Sangiovese, albeit turbocharged, displaying intense, sappy aromas of sour cherries, bramble, dried herbs and charred cedar. The texture is rich, layered and decadent before pulling back and concluding with a bright, drying, sturdy finish.

The 2021 Tierra, 100% Sangiovese, in this vintage is terrific. Aromatic, deep and super-expressive, the 2021 has a ton to offer. Bright acids drive through a core of red-toned fruit. Crushed flowers, mint, blood orange and white pepper linger on the driving finish.
The 2021 Tierra (100% Sangiovese) is medium ruby-hued with a gorgeous nose of ripe cherries, dried Mediterranean herbs, leather, and graphite. This carries to a medium-bodied, structured, classic Jonata-styled wine offering tons of ripe tannins, beautiful balance, and outstanding length. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade.
