Score 96/100 · Drink 2023-2028, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2022

The 2010 Tsundere has a deep ruby color and pure aromas of truffle, tapenade, pipe tobacco and leather with a core of graphite-streaked blackcurrant. The full-bodied palate is generous, supple and surprisingly youthful with a deep core of flinty fruit and a long, layered finish. With savory touches just beginning to emerge from its vibrant fruit, the 2010 Tsundere is gliding gracefully toward its peak of maturity.

The 2010 Tsundere is one of the fresher wines in the range, perhaps because of the significant presence of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Rich, dark and sensual, the 2010 has plenty of depth but all of the fruit is beautifully supported by persistent veins of saline-infused minerality. The 2010 is Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat and Grenache.

(40% cabernet sauvignon, 26% syrah, 24% grenache and 10% tannat): Opaque purple. Sexy aromas of cassis, bitter chocolate, smoky oak and violet. Broad, deep and sweet, with a firm spine of acidity lifting the flavors of dark berries, licorice and floral pastilles. Chewy tannins add shape and grip to the very long, spicy, penetrating finish.

A new addition to the lineup, the 2010 Tsundere is another big, super-ripe wine marked by high alcohol and huge weight. There is obviously plenty of richness, but I have to think this site is capable of so much more, if asked. The 2010 is 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Syrah, 24% Grenache and 10% Tannat.
