Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Expansive aromas of ripe black/blue fruits are complemented by oak spice and incense flourishes, and a smoky element emerges with air. Sappy and energetic on the palate, offering intense blackberry, cherry cola and candied licorice flavors plus a touch of mocha. A subtle vanilla note emerges on the finish, which hangs on with strong, gently tannic persistence.

The 2018 Origin is made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 18 months in 70% new French oak. It has a deep ruby-purple color and classic scents of cassis, pencil shavings, cedar, violet and aniseed. The palate is full-bodied with concentrated, mineral-laced fruits in a firm, grainy frame, and it finishes long. It's a more classical, restrained style this vintage that's immediately accessible. 300 cases produced.
The 2018 Origin checks in as 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that saw 18 months in French oak. Its dense purple/ruby color is followed terrific notes of crème de cassis, black raspberries, cedary spice, tobacco, and chocolate. With medium to full body, a ripe, textured, balanced style, present yet sweet tannins, and a great finish, it's going to drink nicely for 15 years or more.
