Tasting notes
The 1993 Profile (approximately 30% Merlot in the blend) reveals high quality, toasty, vanillin-scented, new French oak intertwined with blackcurrant fruit aromas. The wine is rich and full-bodied, with excellent definition, and a powerful, chewy finish. The tannin is present, but it is riper and better integrated than in the 1992. This wine will be accessible young, but capable of lasting for 15 years. Merryvale's finest red wine is their proprietary wine called Profile. While the blend varies from year to year, most vintages contain between 30%-40% Merlot, about 10% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. This is another wine that seems to have gotten richer and more complex since the early 1990s. Winemaker Bob Levy continues to upgrade the quality of Merryvale's wine program. Tel.
