Tasting notes
The soft, round, generous 1992 Profile (40% Merlot in the blend) possesses a deep ruby/purple color, a spicy, earth, and wood-dominated nose, medium to full body, moderate tannin, good richness, and tough tannin in the finish. While it is a very good to excellent wine that should evolve well over the next decade, it is not in the same qualitative league as the 1993 or 1994. Merryvale's finest red wine is their proprietary wine called Profile. While the blend varies from year to year, most vintages contain between 30%-40% Merlot, about 10% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. This is another wine that seems to have gotten richer and more complex since the early 1990s. Winemaker Bob Levy continues to upgrade the quality of Merryvale's wine program. Tel.
