Tasting notes
The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Riva di Levante is in a great place today where the tannins have softened, yet the flavors remain quite fresh and almost primary. The sweet, layered finish is quite pretty. The influence of the warm vintage along with a greater oak influence that was the norm at the time resulted in a sweet, open Cabernet Sauvignon with plenty of up-front appeal.

These two outstanding Cabernets reveal similar styles, with lots of fresh acidity, plenty of tannin, a striking minerality, and abundant blue and black fruit notes intermixed with hints of flowers. Both are young, promising, medium to full-bodied wines that need 3-5 years of cellaring. The few differences they might possess will undoubtedly emerge with additional bottle age, but right now they are very close in quality. They should evolve for 20 or more years. Tel. (510) 919-2083
