Tasting notes
Bright purple color. A powerful, deeply perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red/dark berries, cherry pit, licorice, violet and smoky minerals. Offers palate-saturating black raspberry, bitter cherry, floral pastille and musky herbs flavors that steadily turn sweeter with air. Shows real power and sharp detail on the youthfully tannic finish, which leaves cherry pit, exotic spice and floral notes behind.

Classic red fruit with liquorice and fennel notes, leading to a bitter twang on the finish. Furry tannic texture. The bitterness leaves the finish a little parched. (RH)
The 2017 Fleurie Cuvée Tardive reveals a deeper, richer bouquet of dark cherries, red fruit compote, quince and rose petal. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and lavish, with a deep, concentrated core and rich structuring tannins. This is a decidedly serious Fleurie, its name alluding to its aging potential and not to a later harvest, and it will demand 3 or 4 years of cellaring at a minimum.
