Score 95/100 · Drink 2024-2035, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Oct 2023

The 2019 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is a blend of declassified barrels from Ferren's single-vineyard program. It has layered aromas of flinty cranberry, blackberry and rhubarb with accents of mushrooms, pipe tobacco, forest floor and bergamot. The light-bodied palate is fresh and chalky with an expansive core of wild berry fruit and generous iodine and spice character on the dynamic finish.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is perfumed with fresh crushed roses as well as red plum. The palate is juicy and ripe with red raspberry and turned earth. Drink this very charming wine right now or over the next 6 years.

The 2019 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a heady, effusive wine. Succulent dark cherry, plum, licorice, mocha and a kiss of new French oak lend raciness to this gorgeous, extroverted Pinot Noir from Ferren. Soft and open-knit, with no hard edges, the 2019 is a terrific introduction to Matt Courtney's Ferren wines.
