Score 95/100 · Drink 2003-2010, Robert Parker, Oct 2003

The 2001 Zinfandel Estate (15.6% alcohol) offers a dense plum/ruby/purple color in addition to full-bodied, chewy, viscous flavors, great palate presence, and a tremendous concentration of briery, black cherry, raspberry, and currant fruit intermixed with earth, pepper, and licorice. Long and powerful yet well-balanced, it should be consumed over the next 5-7 years. It is a compelling Zinfandel! Tel. (707) 963-0940

(from vines planted in 1997) Medium ruby. Expressive aromas of strawberry, raspberry, dark chocolate and sarsaparilla. Plush, sweet and open; much more supple than the Grist. Flavors of roasted red fruits. Finishes with ripe, building tannins. Offers good varietal character considering the young age of the vines.
