Tasting notes
The 2018 Syrah Vellutini Ranch opens with luscious cassis, milk chocolate and sweet spices. The full-bodied palate is rich and velvety, with youthfully gregarious fruits and a long, flavorful finish. Give this classy, ripe Syrah another 2-3 years in bottle. 137 cases were made.

The 2018 Syrah Vellutini Ranch is one of the most extroverted wines in all of the Martinelli range. Inky red fruit, spice, chocolate, licorice, leather and cedar all power through this dense, flamboyant Syrah. Readers need to be patient, as the 2018 requires time to shed some of its formidable tannin. It is a powerhouse, to be sure.
About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
