50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Sémillon from the charming Courselle sisters in the Entre-Deux-Mers. This is getting on a bit by the moon though it still tastes nice and fresh. Very respectably made. Could be enjoyed both with and without food. Lightly chewy on the end. (JR)

A well-known producer of very good and extremely low-priced, generic Bordeaux, Thieuley’s red cuvee, which is 70% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, displays leafy tobacco intermixed with elegant red and black cherry and some dusty, loamy notes in a medium-bodied, easygoing, very Bordeaux-like personality. It is begging for consumption over its first 2-4 years of life.

Smells a little overripe. Very sweet and a bit tarty. Then green. (JR)
