Tasting notes
Greenish hints of lime and green plum appear on the nose of the 2020 Chardonnay Estate from the winery's vineyard on Spring Mountain. There's also a floral, almost lavender scent, plus more typical pineapple underpinnings. Barrel fermented and aged in 30% new French oak, some cedary notes do appear on the medium to full-bodied palate but in balance with the intensity of the citrus fruit, and there's plenty of silky length and generosity on the lingering finish.

Lots of orange blossom, honeyed peach, and toasty, spicy nuances define the 2020 Chardonnay Estate, a medium-bodied, rich, yet nicely balanced Chardonnay. Coming from Spring Mountain, this terrific Chardonnay is going to impress for a solid 3-5 years.
The 2020 Chardonnay Estate marries energy, tension and crystalline purity, all with the structure that is typical of this hillside site. Readers will find a striking Chardonnay endowed with terrific precision. This is a fine showing, especially for the year.
Tasted from barrel, the 2020 Chardonnay Estate offers good depth and plenty of textural intensity. Bright and finely cut, the 2020 offers a bit more energy than some previous editions. It will be interesting to see how this develops over the next year as it finishes its aging.
