Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Prado comes from Oakville and saw the same 21 months in French oak. As with all these releases from Frias Family Vineyard, it was bottled unfiltered. This 2016 offers more black fruits, graphite and tobacco, with a hint of green herbs and earth developing with time in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, seamless, and balanced, with fine tannins, it’s another winner.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Prado is dense and explosive on the palate, with generous blackberry jam, grilled herb, menthol, chocolate and new leather flavors. This rich, dense style that runs through all the Frias Cabernets works best here.
The deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Prado (100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 21 months in French oak) opens with pronounced crushed blackcurrants, black berries and black cherries notes with hints of tobacco, new leather, spice box and fragrant earth plus a waft of sage. Full, concentrated and muscular with an earthy core supported by firm, ripe tannins and loads of freshness, it finishes on a lingering mineral note. 340 cases produced.
