Tasting notes
Good deep medium ruby. Musky, wild aromas of blackberry, violet and pepper complicated by saline and meaty nuances reminded me of syrah. Supple, juicy and sweet, showing a nicely refined texture to its flavors of blackberry, spices and pepper. Substantial but fine-grained tannins spread out to coat the palate on the lingering smoky finish. A distinctly savory style of petite sirah, and not a powerhouse of alcohol.

A great effort, the dense purple-colored 2010 Petite Sirah Reserve SNJ Vineyard reveals abundant floral notes intertwined with sweet blueberry and blackberry fruit, no evidence of wood, and a full-bodied, pure, intense palate. It has more texture than many Petite Sirahs. Enjoy it over the next 20 years. Tel. (707) 942-0859
