Score 93/100 · Drink 2018-2028, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2015

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Chabot Vineyard, from a site at the base of Howell Mountain, is dark, powerful and voluptuous. Iron, smoke, grilled herbs and wild flowers are all pushed forward, while the fruit lies more in the background. Savory and intense, the Chabot offers an intriguing interplay of structure and nuance. It will be interesting to see if the forbidding tannins soften with further time in bottle.
