Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Lampyridae Vineyard is made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 21 months in 100% new French oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with notes of black cherries, fresh blackberries and blackcurrants with touches of tilled soil, garrigue, wild thyme and black tea. Full, firm, grainy and laden with black fruits and earthy layers, it finishes with great length. 219 cases produced.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Lampyridae Vineyard is nicely layered in the glass. Bright acids prop up the blue and purplish berry fruit. Crushed rocks, graphite, game, lavender and crème de cassis are all nicely delineated in this mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon. The persistent, vibrant finish adds to the wine's appeal. In 2015 Lampyridae is especially wild and feral in its expression, with huge Mt. Veeder tannins that may never fully soften.
