Tasting notes
Dark purple. Deep-pitched cassis, cherry-vanilla and pipe tobacco aromas are complemented by a building floral note and a hint of cracked pepper. Rich but energetic as well, showing solid thrust to the dark berry preserve, mocha and rose pastille flavors. Finishes on a smoky note, with strong tenacity, lingering floral oak spice character and steadily building tannins. All new French oak. (JR)

A Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend with splashes of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the 2014 Isosceles reveals aromas of baked dark fruits, tea leaves and green herbs. On the palate, it's full-bodied, with a lush attack that quickly segues into a firm, chewy and somewhat brutal finish. Despite its ripeness, some underlying vegetal qualities concern me.
73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot. Very deep crimson. Sweet and ripe. Despite its very high alcohol and hot finish, it’s not totally unbalanced. Though it is a little short on fruit concentration in the middle. Not my style. (JR)
