Tasting notes
The La Fortuna 2014 Brunello di Montalcino shows the thin and subdued characteristics of the vintage. The quality of fruit is dimmed or lessened in this growing season that lacked substantial sunshine and heat. The bouquet offers wild cherry, dried raspberry, spice and camphor ash. However, the wine offers less intensity in terms of mouthfeel, with extra tightness on the tannins. Bottle production is only 6,600 strong in this vintage.

Just mid ruby. Soft cherry and spice on the nose. Quite light and elegant with a pure, sour-cherry core and grainy tannins. (WS)
Fresh-leather and dried-berry aromas. This sees quite punchy tannins and tart red fruit wrestling a little on the finish. Give it another year or two to settle in.
