Tasting notes
Medium red-ruby, not as bright as the Proprietary Red. Musky dark cherry and graphite aromas are perked up by pepper and herbs. Offers a creamy texture to its sweet berry flavors, but an edge of acidity and a strong oak element currently cut off the wine's fruit. Shows less dimension than the Proprietary Red, which comes across as riper. Finishes with slightly tough tannins.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as a tight but developing bouquet of cranberries, black currants and cherries intermixed with hints of barbecue smoke, spice and toasty oak. Medium to full-bodied and elegant, this refreshing, flavorful Cabernet Sauvignon should be drunk over the next 7-8 years. This relatively new Rutherford winery continues to turn out impressive wines that merit attention from consumers. Tel. (707) 963-9999; Fax (707) 963-9998
