From Atlas Peak, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard offers the earthier, more volcanic side of Cabernet Sauvignon, with dusty, loamy soil notes and unsmoked cigar tobacco as well as blackberry and cassis. This is a big, rugged, more masculine style of wine that should evolve easily for two decades.

Graphite, smoke, blueberry jam and spices open up in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard. Surprisingly open for a Stagecoach Cabernet, the 2013 does a terrific job of expressing both power and suppleness. The Stagecoach tannins are there, but they are also very nicely balanced. Sweet floral and spiced notes wrap around the finish.
Blue and blackberry jam, cloves, mint, spices and new leather emerge from the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard. The Stagecoach is a bit more fruit-driven and succulent than the Cordes, also from Stagecoach, where savory notes play a greater role. Both wines are quite pretty and highly expressive.
