Inky purple. Potent blackcurrant, cherry and licorice scents show a strong spicy overtone. Smoky, densely packed dark berry and floral pastille flavors are energized by a peppery note and given spine by juicy acidity. Finishes broad and sweet, with a late note of vanilla and round tannins.

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon lived up to its pre-bottling expectations and has beautiful depth of fruit, a layered, seamless texture, solid mid-palate concentration and a great finish. If it came from Napa it would sell for three times the price. Revealing classic cassis, blackcurrants, licorice, and background tobacco and herbal notes, drink it anytime over the coming decade.
