Tasting notes
The 2021 Zinfandel Sonoma County is a succulent, forward wine that will drink well with minimal cellaring. Juicy dark cherry, plum, leather, licorice, spice and incense are nicely pushed forward in this tasty Zinfandel from Carlisle. The 2021 is Zinfandel from Old Hill, Teldeschi and Pagani Ranch, with dollops of Petite Sirah from Mounts Ranch and Alicante Bouschet from Pagani.

Tons of auxiliary grapes go into the 2021 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard, which is deep red and ripe with cassis, cedar, bourbon spices, and peppercorn. Full-bodied, with both richness and an angular structure as well as silky fruit to balance it nicely, it offers notes of ripe red plum and black cherry, baking spices, mocha, and warming earth and is long on the palate. Drink 2024-2034.
The 2021 Zinfandel Sonoma County is a mostly opaque dark ruby, and its aromas are fresh and ripe with wild cherry, pressed red flowers, and cracked pepper. Full-bodied and dry, but juicy with raspberry preserve, wet stone, and floral perfume that lasts on the palate, it offers a nice balance of fruit and mineral earth to drink over the next 5-6 years.
