The 2014 Barolo Serralunga d'Alba is slightly unfocused but also very accessible, offering smooth and polished hints of tar and scorched earth. Serralunga d'Alba is known for the power of its fruit, but that power is diminished in this challenging vintage. Production is big at 200,000 bottles made.

One of the highlights in this range, the 2014 Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba is a terrific wine in its peer group. All of the virile intensity of Serralunga comes through in an expressive Barolo that will drink well right out of the gate. Smoke, tar, leather, game, dark spice and plum add character to this decidedly potent, muscular Barolo.
