The 2012 Pinot Noir Altamont displays soft tannins, low acidity, a plump, round, juicy mouthfeel, and good depth and ripeness. It is not as powerful and rich as the 2013, but it is certainly very good. It should drink well for 6-8 years.

Darker tonalities of fruit emerge from the 2012 Pinot Noir Altamont Vineyard. Mint, spices, new leather and flowers are some of the nuances that are woven throughout. Firm tannins suggest the 2012 will provide at least a dozen years of exceptional drinking. Hints of lavender, smoke, violets, smoke and dark red/bluish fruits add the final layers of nuance. Huge, voluptuous and inviting, the 2012 hits all the right notes. Today, the 2012 is every bit as impressive as it was last year.
Firm yet beautifully integrated tannins provide the backdrop for the 2012 Pinot Noir Altamont Vineyard. Here the aromas and flavors are quite dark. Underlying veins of salinity and minerality lend vibrancy to an energetic, salivating Pinot long on class. In 2012, the Altamont stands out for its pure drive. The incisive tannins and bright acidity both suggest the 2012 needs to be cellared for at least a few years. There is a lot to look forward to here.
