Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2014
(from a tiny crop in 2012): Pale silver-yellow with green reflections. Complex perfume of lime, quinine, white flowers, spearmint oil and nutmeg. Silky and supple on the palate, but with sound acidity giving shape to the flavors of musky pineapple, flowers, spices and mint. A bit spiky but I'd still enjoy this concentrated viognier on the early side.

White stone fruits, flowers, pears and mint are all woven together nicely in Failla's 2012 Viognier Alban Vineyard. Impeccable in its balance and sense of harmony, the Viognier is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years.
