Tasting notes
A dark red hue, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Scion has the addition of 6% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec and a 1% splash of Petit Verdot. The nose takes on a nicely layered and floral bouquet, with aromas of polished leather, currants, blueberries, and toasted vanilla. The palate is coating and full, with supple, ripe tannins, a silky texture, and a lightly toasty finish. It’s a charming wine that I would prefer to enjoy over the near term.

Aged for 24 months sur lie in 43% new French oak. 1,250 cases produced. Smells of cherry and oak. In the mouth, the wine is somewhat narrow and bitter, with cherry and oak flavours somehow compressed and angular. Hints of alcoholic heat linger in the finish. Polished tannins and good acidity. (AY)
