Tasting notes
Not yet bottled (it will be bottled in January), the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Sleeping Lady Vineyard continues to show beautifully with cassis and violet notes as well as a medium to full-bodied, deep, pure, yet seamless style. It's another beautiful, elegant wine.

Containing 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, the very deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Cabernet Franc Sleeping Lady Vineyard features exuberant notions of baked raspberries, red and black currants and blueberry compote with touches of cigar box, dried mint and aniseed plus a waft of rose hip tea. Full-bodied, firm and chewy, the palate delivers mouth-filling perfumed fruit, finishing on a lingering earthy note. 52 cases were made.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Sleeping Lady is creamy, voluptuous and ample on the palate, with terrific depth and tons of balance. A rush of sweet red cherry and blood orange fruit pulses through this very pretty Cabernet. Today, the 2017 Sleeping Lady appears to have a very bright future.
A barrel sample blended of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Sleeping Lady Vineyard is very deep purple-black in color and a little closed on the nose, opening to black berries, redcurrants, kirsch, wild blueberries and mulberries with hints of crushed rocks, tobacco and bay leaves. The medium to full-bodied palate is firm and grainy with lively freshness and loads of energy, finishing long and earthy.
