Tasting notes
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Bancroft Ranch is deep, powerful and beautifully layered in the glass. Iron, cured meats, rose petal, mint, mocha, licorice and spice all build as this sumptuous Cabernet gradually reveals its many charms. There is plenty of Howell Mountain grip, but impeccable overall balance too. This is such a distinctive Cabernet. (AG)

Intense aromas and flavors of ripe blackcurrant, dried lavender, bitter chocolate and charred bark. Hints of dried citrus zest, too. It’s medium-bodied with firm, sleek tannins and fresh acidity. Subtle caramel notes at the end. Delicious already, but better from 2024.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Bancroft Ranch Vineyard has a smoky, gritty character that I could do without, but it’s rich and nicely fruited. It’s tough to say where this is going, but if you have bottles, I would drink them.
