It's funny sometimes when you own a wine, try it young and decide based on that tasting to forget you own it. Well, that is exactly what I did, which is to literally forget that I owned it! In poking through the cellar I came across it and decided that it was time and I was quite pleasantlly surprised as the cool yet expressive nose offers up good complexity on the aromas of red and dark berries, earth and spice that display moderate maturity. There is solid density to the middle weight flavors that flash plenty of the hallmark minerality that carries over to the sneaky long if still slightly austere finale. For my taste, this has arrived at its full maturity though it should easily hold for many years.
