Tasting notes
From predominantly orthogneiss soils, the 2020 Ried Pfaffenberg Steiner Kremstal Riesling is the first Pfaffenberg from Knoll that comes as Kremstal DAC instead of Niederösterreich. Therefore, it cannot be marketed as Kabinett anymore. The bouquet is bright, crystal clear and as stony as it is floral and is reminiscent of white peaches and crushed stones. Very pure, clear and fine. Dense but fresh and clear, this is a concentrated, complex, bone-dry, crisp, very long and mineral Pfaffenberg in a very digestible style. Tasted at the domaine in June 2021.

An astonishingly ripe and exotic dry riesling for the 2020 vintage. There's so much pineapple, mango and vanilla in here, it makes you feel like you're on vacation on Hawaii or Tahiti. Very concentrated, the vibrant acidity wrapped in considerable richness. Creamy, dreamy finish with discreet tannins adding a great counterpoint. Drink or hold.
