Tasting notes
The 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc is terrific. Based on 25% Grenache Blanc, 25% Clairette, 20% Clairette Rose, 20% Bourboulenc, and the rest Grenache Gris, it has a pure, clean nose of dried pineapple, orange blossom, and spicy, white flower-like nuances. It's balanced, medium-bodied, has terrific purity, and a clean, lengthy finish. I'd be thrilled to drink a bottle over the coming 2-4 years, and it should have an interesting evolution beyond that as well.

The 2023 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc from Bosquet des Papes exhales a complex, rich bouquet of jasmine, white flowers, ripe orchard fruits and rose. Medium to full-bodied, round and mouth coating, rich and concentrated, the palate is slightly different from the nose and lacks dynamism despite an elegant, ethereal finish. A bit of cellar aging could prove beneficial. This blend of 25% Grenache Blanc, 25% Clairette, 20% Clairette Rose, 20% Bourboulenc and 10% Grenache Gris matured for six months, mainly in stainless steel, with 20% in wooden tanks.
Bottled in April 2024, the 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Cuvée Tradition is delicious, unwinding with ripe pear, lemon flesh and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied at most, the 2023 is a markedly refined Blanc from the talented Nicolas Boiron. An energetic, flavorful finish rounds it up.
