Tasting notes
The 2021 Vouvray Sec is elegantly austere and somewhat introverted at this stage. Revealing aromas of grapefruit and spices, it's medium-bodied, round and supple, with an elegant, juicy and fresh core of fruit supported by a structured mid-palate that leads to a long, ethereal finish with a lovely, refined bitterness. This is a wine that will benefit from additional time in the cellar to fully unwind and reveal its potential.

When tasted in May 2022, the 2021 Sec had only been in bottle for a week, and it is a cooler vintage interpretation of this estate with fine linearity and tension running through its tranquil core. While its edges are rounded, there is a certain austerity to this wine that ensures it will evolve slowly. There are pure pear flavors and attractive floral notes on the long length. Give this at least three to five years to soften but will start developing and blossom in 8-10 years' time.
