Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2019-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017
The 2016 Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière had been transferred into vat three weeks before my visit and had undergone no pigeage. It has a joyful bouquet with plenty of strawberry and boysenberry jam scents that are well defined and convey plenty of energy. The palate is ripe and rounded on the entry with juicy ripe tannin, veins of blue fruit and a touch of cassis, leading to a slight truncated, maybe brutish finish that I suspect will gain more length once in bottle.
