The 2020 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has a delightful bouquet with hints of orchard fruit and gunflint, clean and precise though not powerful. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, citrus-fresh with a subtle sour lemon note keeping everything on edge on the finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.

One of the richer, more gourmand wines in the range is the 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine redolent of crisp stone fruit, pastry cream, green apple and pear. Despite its texture and volume, it remains lively and Chablisien in style. Drink this 2020 while the more tightly wound 2019 develops in the cellar.
The 2020 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru offers attractive peach blossom and light nectarine scents on the nose, gradually becoming more floral with aeration. The palate is zesty on the entry with orange pith and mandarin notes, gaining weight toward quite a phenolic and nicely delineated finish. Give this a year in bottle.
