The 1943 Beaune Les Teurons 1er Cru comes across as rather unclean on the nose, earthy and fungal with touches of leather. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannins, quite sapid with blackcurrant pastilles on the finish. It lacks energy and feels a bit fatigued, especially in juxtaposition with the Richebourg. Tasted at the "Three" dinner at Bouchard Père in Beaune.
