Tasting notes
Score 93/100 · Drink 2010-2018, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2008

The 2006 Pinot Noir Carter is medium/dark ruby with an alluring bouquet of violets, earth notes, cherry, and raspberry. On the palate it has superb depth of flavor, lots of spice, succulent fruit, and a persistent finish. It should be at its best from 2010 to 2018. Ken Wright Cellars remains a benchmark for Oregon Pinot Noir. Wright’s portfolio of 2006s is outstanding across the board. As has become customary, Ken Wright has pulled off a tour de force in farming and winemaking. Tel. (503) 853-7070; www.kenwrightcellars.com

Dark red. Deep, smoky nose shows more power than the Nysa and Canary Hills wines. Blackberry and cherry on the nose and palate, joined in the mouth by bitter chocolate and licorice nuances. Became sweeter and more red-fruity with air. Finishes chewy and persistent, in need of some bottle aging.
