The 2020 Teynac offers good depth and pliancy in a midweight style that is on the understated side for Saint-Julien. I find quite a bit to like here, but reductive notes are impossible to look past, as least in this barrel sample.

From the Beychevelle region, the 2020 Château Teynac has attractive currant and plum style fruits as well as some background oak, solid spice, and cedar nuances, medium-bodied richness, and a clean finish. It's a well-made, certainly very good Saint-Julien that will have up-front appeal yet also keep for over a decade.
