Score 87/100 · Drink 2018-2027, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016

Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux tasting, the 2012 Fourcas-Borie has an attractive bouquet with blackberry, tobacco and graphite notes. It would be even better with more vigor but hey, this is no 2009 or 2010 we are talking about. The palate is medium-bodied with a little chewiness, moderate depth with a lightly spiced finish that cuts off a bit curtly. Drink over the next 6-8 years. Tasted January 2016.

Thick and sweet with rather tarty sweet and sour notes. Charred finish. (JR)

54% Merlot, 46% Cabernet and this year no Petit Verdot. Shiny red label. Mid crimson. Light but convincingly and freshly scented. Gentle texture – nothing forced. Lots of energy. Bravo! Neat, dry finish. 10-15 euros and distributed by Ulysse Cazebonne. GV (JR)
