Score 83/100 · Drink 2018-2022, Neal Martin, Apr 2018

The 1976 Beau-Séjour Bécot was picked between 15 to 24 September. It has a little more energy than the 1975 Beau-Séjour Bécot with tart red fruit, leather and touches of cooked meat. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, more body and cohesion than the 1970 or 1975 with a grainy, slightly earthy, herbaceous finish that at least has decent freshness for the vintage. Drink this soon, but it probably deserves light applause for having lasted well. Tasted at the château.

Now totally faded and dried out, the 1976 has a vegetal, barnyard aroma, soft, diluted flavors, medium body, and a very short finish. Last tasted, 10/83.
